Real ACTUAL clips from the Fremont Town Hall w/Pete Stark on August 15, 2009 that I attended. As you will see, YES, folks did get loud. YES folks did speak out of turn. And YES this usually happened when he refused to answer specific questions or dismissed someone. The folks that were there in opposition were NOT organized. However there were many there that were there to support and they WERE organized. Wearing the same stickers on their shirts and having sheets of paper to "shush" folks. You'll see.

This SEEMS very interesting indeed. I happened to go to a Town Hall yesterday and there were MANY folks that had taken the time to read parts of, if not all of, the current HR3200 bill and had lots of questions about the Public Option and other factors. Could be they are finally seeing that perhaps MORE people in this Nation don't want it than do?!

...the job hunt has moved to the forefront
I've been MIA and this is mostly due to more concentrated efforts on my part to secure employment. What time I've spent on the pc has been spent fine-tuning and posting resumes, emails, reading articles, etc....I've also been having to do some micro-managing of the boy. I swear, do all twelve year-olds just develop a MOUTH overnight? (I think the sad truth is they do..because I seem recall I might have?~!)
However, I was amused to read this Editorial @ The Washington Times (and thought I'd share) vs. this nonsense, Highs and Lows of Obama's first 100 days - which certainly seemed to leave OUT lots of things that occurred in that time. What is wrong with the media? (*Don't worry I know the answer, I just don't understand the WHY*) *sigh* There are many other articles I could complain about or bitch about, but as I sit here tonight listening to my son sing off-key with his MP3 player going and putting dishes away, I'm just not going to expend the energy. After all, I do have a phone interview tomorrow (oops I didn't mention that yet did I?!) and I don't want to get depressed!
I am, however, going to pimp a show that my Dad talked to me about a few years ago, and that a couple of other people recommended to me. That show is The Unit. Talk about some great patriotic TV. The men of The Unit are far from perfect, but they are men who serve their country unfailingly. It's a great drama with a lot of gritty action. This is a show that I encourage my son to watch as well. Goodness knows he needs all of the positive male role models I can toss his way. We've watched all of the seasons and are all caught up and I'm afraid it's in danger of being canceled. So please try this show out!
Anyway, sorry for the disjointed post. Off to cook, interview prep, hang with the boy, and try not to obsess with the sad state of our nation.

...one lump or two?
So I am going to attend my first real protest tomorrow. I cannot believe I'm going to do it honestly. Usually, I dislike protestors and find them incredibly annoying. And tomorrow I'm going to put on my annoying protestor hat and attend a TEA PARTY!! I cannot attend the entire time - but I'll be there. I'll stand up and show myself. I'll be more than just a ranty voice on the internet. I'm a little excited. And I have no idea as to what to expect! However - I hope that you also find yourself taking part in history tomorrow. Oh yea - we get to have our own little historical moment too.....!! Not just the 'Prez....!
I certainly hope some lefty doesn't come along and do anything to my car!

So much has gone on since my last post: Piracy, Right-Wing Radical Threats, lifts on travel to/fro Cuba, Obama agreeing to allow an international board to have a say in the running of U.S. companies....DUDE. What the hell is going on?! Who let the dogs out?![woof! woof!]
According to this article, Obama is just pissing all over the Declaration of Independence - and not behind closed doors anymore. "The Financial Stability Board then has the international authority to set policies in these corporations, including compensation packages the private boards of directors in the examined companies decide to pay top executives and senior managers."
I simply don't get it. I don't understand how on earth Congress will/can go along with this. Why the news networks aren't broadcasting this latest development as much as they can. Why on earth should ANY foreign entity have any say in how we run our businesses? We don't get to tell other nations how to run. We don't have a say in other nations' immigation policies, border protection, taxing, political venues, television and radio broadcasts. So why in the hell are we allowing ourselves to be governed and told what we can and can't do by other governments?
WHY WHY WHY? Forget your white guilt. Forget your need to save the earth from itself. Why should ANY American living and working on their own turf ever have to listen to another nation telling them what to do? Because these other nations have done so much better than us? What makes them better? More knowledgeable?
NOT A DAMNED THING. Nothing makes them better. This very country was founded in order to govern on it's own without answering to any other nation. This country has been a success story on every single level. This country has grown into such a power that other countries over the years have needed OUR help. This country is still the richest country on the planet. Don't kid yourselves - our poorest of the poor are still considered rich by many other nations' standards. And do you know why that is?
Our people govern. Our people have a say. The government of our nation was set up in order to keep the government from taking control over everything. That's why it takes so long to get anything done - it was DELIBERATELY done. Big Government is NOT the answer. Big Government cannot be trusted or allowed to make all decisions for its people. When allowed to do so it only crushes its people and lifts a small few into power. It creates paranoia, fear, depression and violence to a level that a lot of you "No War / Peace" people would be SHOCKED to experience.
And here I sit today watching us creeping closer and closer to that very scary reality. This is big people. Make it stop!! Arguments about recycling, living green, oil prices, and pro-life can wait. They'll always be there. Fine. But come together and PRESERVE YOUR NATION. Embrace liberty and freedom. DO SOMETHING!
OH crap I've gone all "radical" now haven't I? I'm what is now? An extremist? A racist? Isn't that right? Isn't that what they are now labeling folks like me? Give me a break. I'm an AMERICAN. I will NOT stop expressing my opinion and talking to anyone who will listen about what is going on. I will NOT stop. But I sure wish YOU would! [Yes, that's directed right at the big O] Go back to Chicago and work on your committees. You are not fit for Office.
Oh and CHECK THIS OUT. Obama on the economy. What a frigging joke. I think I'd rather watch the Octomom trying to justify her breeding program.
On a lighter note...
I had to re-institute "Boot Camp - Momma style" last night with my son. Pushups. Extra Chores. More Pushups. 25 sentences of "I will not be disrespectful to Mom" - written neatly, mind you, which can be tricky for a 12 year-old! You'd think that he'd know by now that I mean what I say. And I will enforce what I say. Heck I'm not working - I've got nothing better to do!!! *wink*
I also wanted to share this DELIGHTFUL video with everyone. It brought me to tears and I think EVERYONE will feel better having watched. Susan Boyle Sings

...wasting time on regrets
I saw this great poll today at Soda Head asking people if they REGRET VOTING FOR OBAMA. The funny thing is that (at the time I looked at the results) if the 16% that admits to regretting their vote were added up with the 39% that didn't vote - we'd have 55% of the votes. You know....the MAJORITY~! I just kind of dug it - so I thought I'd share.

On the other hand - I really do wish that those that honestly do regret their vote would get off their collective butts and DO something about it. Blog. Send emails and letters. SOMETHING. Or are they and we just haven't heard anything?

Pajama Underground has this GREAT POST with excerpts from one of Obama's recent blunderings.....hinting that the religion of Islam helped shape America. Although he said "my own country" so perhaps he was being HONEST afterall? Because obviously - America isn't his country!

...I wish I was cool
I'm getting my hair cut today. What you didn't know about me is that I've been unemployed since October [thank you Economy!] and I'm actively looking for work. So today I'm getting my hair cut in order to present myself better next week with a couple of meetings I've scheduled. You ask yourself, "What on earth does that have to do with anything? Has she finally gone over the edge?!"
Well no - I haven't. But I came across this GREAT blog this morning as I sat down with my morning coffee and magazines to help me find the best haircut [because - REALLY - it will matter!]. It made me realize that I too want to be cool *wink*. Mostly it just made me laugh. And I had to share. So enjoy!

So I did a little digging today around the White House Official Site/Blog. Have you guys ever been there? I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it to be honest. On the one hand, reaching out to America in a venue that so many Americans use seems practical. But...I can't help but wonder if it's a tad tacky. Of course ...it's MUCH better than appearing on a late-night comedy show isn't it?!
ANYWAY that isn't really what prompted me to post twice in one day. [Still celebrating my son's birthday today!] No what prompted me was surfing around the Agenda section of the site that lists out the Barack/Biden Agenda. And let me tell you - I had myself a little giggle. Feel free to go and check it out for yourself, but I had to copy/paste some direct quotes.
Fiscal Agenda [Actual Link]
"President Obama has been a strong advocate for sound budget practices and the reduction of wasteful spending in Washington. He is committed to fiscal transparency and accountability and ensuring that all new tax cuts and spending commitments are paid for without burdening our children and grandchildren with excessive debt."
REALLY?! Huh because it sure seems to be "sound budget practices" to push legislation through that call for billions, or is it trillions now?, to be spent without allowing time for people to read and/or have a say. Not to mention ignoring those financial experts who shout how bad the plan is.
"End Wasteful Government Spending: Obama and Biden will stop funding wasteful, obsolete federal government programs that make no financial sense."
Again all I can muster in my head is...REALLY?!

Sure it's okay if you snuck in here - between you and me we can make it work. How on earth are they going to force them to learn English? That is laughable.

On a personal note, I was once married to a Scotsman and we went by the book in order to allow him to remain legally in the States. We went through interviews and documentation - the whole works. The immigration system isn't broken because it's too hard to get here for crying out loud. No what's broken is that our borders are NOT properly secured and enforced. By a long-shot. [And yes, I know that we have businesses and employers here who are willing to save money by not having to pay for health care, employment insurance, etc.] I just firmly believe that there needs to be a bigger deterrent AT THE BORDER. And I don't see Obama paying any attention to THAT.

Yeah- off to a great start with gifts of DVDs and an iPod, right?

...no time for fear
I read this post today and wanted to share it: Read Here
The speed at which Obama and his Administration is moving is astonishing. As advised, I'm trying to stop being afraid. I'm working on maintaining a slightly simmering anger to keep the fear demons at bay. And I thank those of you that have reminded me that FEAR is what this Administration is cultivating. So no I will not fall prey.
I do not think that this bodes well for America. Why on earth court those that despise us? Is he going to try and ensure them that now America is ready to play nice and be more like them?
On a lighter note, Jon Stewart was pretty funny recently and DEAD ON. Check it out!
Truly this gives me hope that people in America are starting to slowly wake up from the post-election high. *fingers crossed*

I just keep wondering when people will start to wake up from the "dream" they have been living in for the past several months. People - please!? Wake up and smell your freedoms and rights being tossed into the nearest recycling bin and burned efficiently!

What a difference a week makes, eh? It would appear that the steady and hard-working Orly Taitz is starting to get heard. She has been making the rounds. She has been doing her due diligence and discovering that perhaps the clerks have been working to keep cases that deal with Obama's eligibility away from the Judges' eyes. How scary is that?!

I sincerely hope that the documents/cases get heard now. Apparently they haven't even made it that far. It's one thing to have your case heard and then dismissed for legal grounds - but to not even get heard? COME ON!
This issue is huge. The Petition numbers continue to grow. There are over 330,000 signatures made by American Citizens that want these allegations to be heard. Over 330,000 American Citizens that doubt their President's eligibility. It needs to be heard and addressed. What is our country coming to if in fact we cannot get heard?
In further good news, it would appear that Obama's popularity is slipping. The American people are not as excited about his performance as they were about his possibilities prior to Office. I am not surprised. As fast as he's been pushing the Left-Train around the tracks, it was bound to get some notice and raise eyebrows. He certainly campaigned a little more moderately than his actions are showing. In truth, I believe that the majority of the Democratic Party aren't lefties & tend to vote somewhat towards "middle ground" or "slightly conservative" anyway. And now they're seeing that the man they put into Office is VERY left. And they aren't liking that.
Lastly for today, I just Signed a Tea Party Petition, won't you?

...if only
Imagine you are a police officer. You and several other experienced and trained police officers are in the middle of a hostage situation outside of a bank. During a transfer of some hostages (as agreed upon by negotiators), shots are fired and a couple of the hostages are hit. This leads to a massive spray of bullets from both sides for several minutes, before the lead officer is able to call for a cease fire. Several officers have been wounded and/or killed, as well as the criminals and a few more hostages - but the officers manage to gain control of the situation.
Still with me?
Well during the investigation, it's determined that the original shots came from the "good guys" side of the fence. Further digging reveals that the security guard from a neighboring building pulled the trigger. Despite the strict protocol that only Law Enforcement Officers and Officials were allowed to be in the vacinity, he had been allowed to stick around because he didn't really pose a threat.
Except that now he's the one responsible for the blood bath. If the rules had been followed - he wouldn't have been there in the first place. And perhaps no one would have been killed or hurt.
If only the rules had been followed.....
Perhaps it isn't the best analogy, but I think that is what is going on with this fight by some citizens over proof of Obama's eligibility to have run for Office in the first place. After reading THIS ARTICLE this morning - I am very worried. It talks about how the American public voted him in - so that should be enough. Forget the fact that IF all of the correct protocol had been followed, it's likely that he never would have been an option for folks to vote for right?!? Leave it up to the voters? Forget the Constitution. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
We're being encouraged to just forget the fact that the Constitution was written VERY carefully to try and protect us from having someone that doesn't 100% stand behind the American Way of Life as our Leader and Chief. It specifically addresses Natural Born Citizens, as well as dual-citizenship. Specifically. Our forefathers were very bright guys. They knew this was the land of opportunity that others from the around the world would continue to emigrate to and make their way. They knew that this would be a country that others would want to tear down. They knew how powerful and prosperous it would be. Freedom kind of does that for ya.
Those bylaws were put in place to protect us. Protect us from ourselves and ignorance. Let's face it - not everyone REALLY pays attention or digs for the facts. Lots of us just kind of "like a candidate" and vote. And if I hadn't known any better, hadn't done my homework (because it IS tiring to do your homework), I might have fallen for his more charming than McCain ways too. But I didn't. I did my homework. A few of us did - but only a few.
And now here we are. Being chastised by our elected officials. Come on..let this one go. It isn't that big of a deal....Shhh...don't be such sticklers for the rules. He got the majority vote...come on....don't be dicks.
My ass.
It's my country and I'll be a dick about it if I want to.

...even "mainstream" news is talking about it..sorta..
So apparently, AOL has been listening. There is a poll and story about what they call the "Birthers" pushing to have more documentation proving Obama's eligibility to have run for Office. Here is the Article.
Now it isn't very flattering naturally. But it goes to show that folks ARE listening and thinking. AND if you participate in the poll (which I did) you'll note that it is closer to a 50-50 split than what I would have guessed between participants that have doubts. You'd think that would be enough to have Obama just release his documents and get it over with. Right?!.....?! Well no - but I like seeing such close percentages. It boosts me up a wee bit to see folks paying attention.

Folks are still fighting to have Obama's documents brought out of whatever deep and dark hole they've been buried in to prove he was in fact eligible to run for Office. Personally? I think this is the biggest hoax we've ever been witness to to in this country. When the truth finally is allowed to come out - what on earth are the court justices and politicians going to to do about it? Probably not a damned thing. Out of fear.
You have to ask yourself - why the secrecy? Why the many law firms hired to in fact keep his documents sealed and hidden? McCain complied with a very thorough investigation over his eligibility. Obama and his camp has fought it from the beginning. I bet they didn't think that folks would fight this hard or look this closely at the man's credentials.
I firmly believe the man is a liar and the biggest threat to the American way of life we've ever seen. But he isn't what scares me the most. What scares me the most is the fact that we, the people, will LET him get away with it. That we will continue to just sit blindly by and allow this man to change our entire way of life without so much as a peep about it. It terrifies me.
On a personal note, I'm tired of this nasty cold giving me vertigo. The world seems to spin enough on it's own!

what is a racist?
Today someone I had thought was a friend called me a "racist" and not "open-minded". Told me that she could never associate with someone like me. I was shocked and surprised to hear myself first of all called names by a "friend", and secondly to find myself linked to those particular names. Actually, I'm still shocked and surprised. And hurt. But forget the hurt for right now. [Although I guess I'll save a stamp on THAT holiday card in the future...]
According to Dictionary.com here is what "racist" means:
racist –noun
Huh - that doesn't really fit me at all. I don't believe I'm fit to rule over anyone, unless you jokingly want to say I rule over my son. I don't feel that I, or my race for that matter, is superior, nor do I act as such. I do not hate people as a general rule (not even my ex). And I certainly don't discriminate or demonstrate against those of other races. So according to Dictionary.com - I am not a racist.
I am starting to think that people are using the word more liberally (ha! get it?) and generally than they used to. It seems to me these days when a white person (such as myself) disagrees with or doesn't like or speaks out against someone of another color - that makes them a racist. Forget what differences of opinion there may be. One is white and doesn't agree so therefore they are a racist. Am I right? Do I have it correct now? If so - then someone needs to contact Dictionary.com and get it updated and certainly send out a bulletin to folks like me that won't blindly go along with everyone else.
This friend of mine didn't like the posts I'd done here. Didn't like the casualness in which I talked about the now historical election of the first black man as President of the United States. Do I think it's historical? Of course I do. However, what I don't think is that should be ALL people focus on. A man shouldn't be President simply based upon the color of his skin, AND people shouldn't only be happy that he was elected because it's the first time it's ever happened. There are bigger issues at stake here. Truly.
I think there are some very important questions and documents that Obama needs to answer and provide to prove first of all that he meets all of the eligibility (as a Natural Born Citizen) to EVEN RUN FOR OFFICE. He has not done so YET. There are court cases, like I linked to in a post below, still fighting for him to do so. Why the secrecy? Why not just prove that he does in fact meet all of the eligibility requirements?
I don't think that a man that admittedly sought endorsement from the Marxist Party, as well as admitted in one of his books that he sought out the company of Marxist students while in college should be considered to run for Office. Marxism is NOT what the United States of a America has ever stood for.
I firmly believe that his ultimate goal is to turn America into a Socialist country. To create dependency by it citizens upon the government. To cripple entrepreneurs and capitalism. To be in power and "rule" over the nation. To kill Free Speech and independent thinking.
But that doesn't make me a racist. Nor does it make me narrow-minded. It mostly just makes me very scared. Obama still has so many supporters that aren't looking past his pretty words and reading between the lines. He's already said he want's to "remake America". What on earth do people honestly think that means?! Remaking means to completely change over. Not put back on track.
Another friend of mine thinks that our nation is heading for another Civil War. Brother vs. brother. Friend vs. friend. And after what happened to me today, I have to start to think that prediction could very well come true.

I told you it wouldn't last.
Even after I told my son that I'd blogged about our little experiment (and he chuckled over it along with me), I still had to be "Enforcer Mom!" (say it out LOUD in your head like you would for a superhero...) last night. Say it with me now, "What a D U M M Y.".
So this time it was 40 push-ups. Then 40 jumping jacks. Then he lost his prized Jumpman Pro sneakers he'd gotten for Christmas. Believe me, I would have made him run around the block if it hadn't of been so late. Although I think I'll be adding sit-ups into the mix...
He did finish all of his homework. He did go to bed later than he's supposed to. I did enforce the rules in my house. I did curb tantrums and would-be insulting nonsense coming from out of his mouth. I still wish he wouldn't act so STUPIDLY. He won't ever win.

Someone told me today that on the TV show, "The View", the ladies were talking about how "Capitalism is unraveling" before our eyes. My friend and I just looked at each other. It's what we and others like us have been saying for MONTHS about the dangers of Obama and want he wants to do. However....I also say, "Better late than never, people!".
